En el anverso se encuentra el rostro del Emperador Don Pedro II en la parte central del billete.&#13;
Tanto los billetes como las monedas de “réis” estaban adornados con símbolos que reflejaban la identidad del Imperio brasileño. Entre los elementos presentes destacaban retratos de monarcas como don Pedro I y don Pedro II, así como figuras alegóricas que representaban la libertad, la justicia, la agricultura y la industria, además de símbolos de nobleza y poder imperial. Estos símbolos expresaban los valores y la historia de la época, haciendo de cada billete y moneda una pieza única y valiosa.&#13;
